The Show Must Go On Launch

Tuesday saw the launch of The Show Must Go On at LSO St Luke's. This fantastic event was a celebration of Gareth Davies' book, with a short film about the 1912 tour and archival material on display. Also popular were the cupcakes that had been made for the occasion, resplendent with the book itself or the logos of the LSO and Elliott & Thompson. Gareth and three of his colleagues played In The Shadows, which can be heard in the film. The book chronicles and compares the LSO tour of America in 1912 with the most recent world tour in 2012, highlighting how little has changed in 100 years when it comes to orchestral touring.
